"Forry's Folly" (as some critics referred to Famous Monsters) was the nation's most popular and influencial monster magazine for over 20 years.
Many 10 to 14 year-old boys in the early 1960's cut their fangs on copies of Famous Monsters magazine. FM flourished during the monster craze of the early 1960's, when local tv stations began airing their own customized versions of a syndicated movie package called "Shock Theatre". Famous Monsters magazine was edited by Forrest J Ackerman, who drew upon his incredible collection of monster stills and movie knowledge to illustrate his "Folly". Forry is in his 80's now is still going strong.
